Summary
I have heard about new laws banning abortion in certain states in the USA and I’d like to learn more about this topic, about the details of the voting process, the law itself and the public’s reaction to it. The article “Alabama abortion ban: Republican state senate passes most restrictive law in US” written by Eric Durkin and Jessica Glenza is devoted to the discussion of the problem of banning abortion in certain states of the USA. First, the authors draw our attention to the fact that there are no exceptions for victims of rape and incest. Then they analyze the process of discussion of this bill in the Alabama Senate. For example, such amendments as banning vasectomy for men or expanding medical aid, which were introduced by the Democrats, failed. But there are people and organizations that are ready to fight against this law. The ACLU and Planned Parenthood are going to file a lawsuit to stop this ban, and they hope to take this fight all the way to the Supreme Court. Protests took place outside the Alabama statehouse. In addition, there is a prediction that this law will make doctors want to leave Alabama, which already has very high rates of infant mortality and cervical cancer.
In the end it is stated that the Democratic members of the Senate are truly sorry that they were not able to protect the rights of women in Alabama.
It was unclear to me when exactly this law is suppose to take effect.

You have managed to keep a good balance b/w the general points and specific details. You have also managed to write it well from the point of view of Mechanics and Language Use.
