Climate change

(A solution to problems essay)

Climate change has been one o the most controversial topics in the world for several decades. There are many people who don’t believe that humans are responsible for ecological problems, even though countless facts prove that human activity is the main reason why climate change has become such a problem. We need to take serious actions; otherwise drought, floods, extreme heat and food scarcity will make our lives unbearable. We must keep temperatures from rising higher than 1.5C., but how exactly can we do it?

The first solution is to start using renewable energy and move away from fossil fuels. We have to reduce the burning of coal and oil and start employing such alternatives as wind, solar, geothermal, tide and wave energy. This will significantly reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere.

Other things that could help us are forest management and improved agricultural practices. We must stop massive deforestation, support intensive farming and reforest abandoned or unproductive lands. All of this along with paper recycling can quickly eliminate up to 20 percent of emissions, and it could become our best short-term solution for limiting climate change.

Responsible consumption can also help to limit climate change. “Responsible consumption” can mean many things: using public transport instead of buying an automobile; buying in bulk; reducing waste by being aware of how much food (particularly meat), clothing, cosmetics and cleaning products we buy, but might not actually need. These measures can result in fewer fossil fuels being burned to extract, produce and ship products around the world.

In conclusion, our passivity regarding climate change can lead to grave consequences. I believe that we all must unite and transition to a low carbon society and save our planet by becoming more responsible for our actions.
